December 12 will be here before you know it!! This will be our 3rd annual event!
Each year we are able to empower parents in our community by giving them the opportunity to purchase gifts for their children at 10% of the retail cost. The parent may choose three gifts per child to purchase. We also try and provide gently used coats or a new coat deeply discounted for each child. Childcare is provided while these parents do their shopping. Crafts and snacks will be available for the kids. Homemade goodies and drinks will be shared along with fellowship and prayer.
This event has helped so many parents who may be struggling, especially at this time of the year, not only financially and emotionally but spiritually as well! However it takes several volunteers to pull off this wonderful event!!! Please join us after service Sunday, October 4, for our first CITP meeting. Many folks are needed not only the day OF the event but for different areas in preparation of it all!
There will be a list of volunteer needs – even if you can’t stay for the meeting please pop in and sign up for an area! So start watching for those sale items now (i.e. toys, jewelry, sports equipment, electronics, etc.). It’s also getting that time of year to clean out our closets, so if you have a new or gently used coat please consider donating it (all sizes will be needed!!). Remind your friends and family members of the opportunity for them to help make Christmas special for a child!
